Job Summary

This role entails overseeing audits for medium and small clients with semi-senior involvement in large client audits. Key responsibilities include mentoring junior staff, planning and executing audit strategies, monitoring engagement performance, and preparing financial reports.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversight of audit engagements for medium and small clients
  • Mentoring and guidance of junior staff members
  • Planning and execution of audit strategies
  • Monitoring and management of engagement performance
  • Preparation of annual financial statements, management letters, and key features memoranda
  • Clearance of review notes from team leaders and managers
  • Analysis of full financial statements including consolidations of high-risk areas
  • Follow-through to finalization of engagement documents
  • Audit administration and coordination
  • Client relations and communication
  • Preparation and maintenance of system documentation
  • Analytical review of financial statements focusing on key captions such as accounts payable receivable and inventory
  • Coaching and delegation of work to team members ensuring timely completion of engagement reviews
  • Clearing of review notes and thorough check of working papers prior to management review
  • Development of industry knowledge and expertise
  • Compliance testing including system work through
  • Audit of statutory records internal controls and consolidated accounts
  • Participation in pre-engagement planning and discussion of client needs and expectations
  • Understanding of client business products performance and accounting policies
  • Adherence to risk management policies
  • Effective wrap-up of engagement including report issuance and document retention

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce or equivalent qualification
  • Completion of at least 9 ACCA papers F1-F9
  • Completion of 2 CPA papers
  • Completion of ICAEW Professional Stage

Experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years of postgraduate experience
  • Knowledge of accounting concepts and principles
  • Computer literacy and proficiency

Linguistic Skills

  • Excellent communication skills in English reading writing speaking and listening
  • Proficiency in Arabic is an advantage
