As a seasoned expert in Enterprise Messaging Technologies, you will play a crucial role in supporting our client's infrastructure based in Muscat, Oman.

Job Description:

Administer and manage WMQ / WMB systems, including performance monitoring, logging, backup, recovery, and health checks to ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage WMQ/WMB system configurations, including security settings, message flow definitions, and queue management.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of MQ infrastructure projects to enhance system reliability and performance.
  • Provide technical support at multiple levels, including after-hours and weekend support, to address critical issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and administrators on planning and expanding infrastructure to meet business needs.
  • Troubleshoot system connectivity and performance issues, coordinating with vendors for hardware and software solutions when necessary.
  • Perform daily administration of WMQ/Message Broker instances, ensuring they are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Configure new WMQ/Message Broker instances and clustering in production environments, adhering to established standards and best practices.
  • Support application teams on WMQ/Message Broker activities, providing guidance and expertise as needed.
  • Offer performance support, problem determination, and resolution to optimize system efficiency.
  • Develop and deploy scripts for administrative tasks, streamlining processes and reducing manual effort.
  • Provide break/fix support and fault diagnosis, resolving issues quickly to minimize downtime.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with SSL certificate installation, renewal, and configuration is essential.
  • Proficiency in UNIX operating systems is required, with a strong background in messaging technologies.
  • Knowledge of Message Broker monitoring and performance tuning on UNIX platforms is beneficial.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for complex message flow issues, with experience in vendor support escalation.
  • Hands-on experience in developing, deploying, and testing Message Flows is a plus.
  • Ability to diagnose message flow problems and SSL certificates in Message Broker environments.
  • Understanding of MQ clustering, performance tuning, and infrastructure monitoring, including installation and configuration of MQ components.
  • Extensive experience with IBM MQ suite, especially versions 6/7, on Intel/Linux systems is desirable.
  • Ability to administer MQ services in a 24/7 environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
