The Media Specialist contributes to the success of the project's communication strategy by drafting and reviewing content, coordinating with the project team to deliver final media outputs, and working closely with media outlets to arrange interviews and coverage. This role ensures that messaging is consistent with the project's identity and objectives. The Media Specialist also builds and maintains strong professional relationships with journalists, media representatives, and influencers, and follows up on media activities both on the ground and digitally.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Write, edit, and review press releases, news content, social media posts, presentations, videos, images, and other project-related media materials.
  • Coordinate with media outlets to cover events and initiatives, arrange interviews and press conferences, and ensure smooth execution.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of journalists, reporters, and influencers in the media and social media sectors.
  • Prepare media briefing documents, ensure key messages are ready, and maintain message alignment with the project's identity and objectives.
  • Monitor media coverage and analyze engagement and exposure levels.
  • Review media-related proposals, decks, activation materials, and stakeholder/influencer lists submitted by project partners.
  • Draft and review periodic reports.

Technical Requirements:

  • Strong writing and editing skills in Arabic.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities in Arabic (written and spoken).
  • Familiarity with the local media landscape and key players in both institutional and individual capacities.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and follow up on media activities effectively.

Work Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Media, Public Relations, Corporate Communication, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in media, journalism, or corporate communication.
  • Hands-on experience in coordinating media coverage and writing press content.
  • Location: Client's office in Muscat, with field visits to project partners as needed.
  • Reports to: Project Manager.
  • Contract duration: One year.
  • The role may occasionally require working outside regular office hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in using media monitoring and content analysis tools.
  • Previous experience in national-level projects or large-scale media campaigns.
