Data Analyst for Strategic Planning

As a Data Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting strategic planning and institutional effectiveness at our institution. This involves data collection, analysis, and reporting to inform decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Collection & Management: You will collect, organize, and maintain data from various sources, including enrolment, academic outcomes, and financial performance.
  • Data Analysis & Interpretation: Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, interpret results, and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Performance Metrics & Dashboards: Develop KPIs and interactive dashboards to track institutional progress and support planning efforts.
  • Benchmarking & Comparative Studies: Conduct research to compare our institution's performance with peer institutions and highlight improvement opportunities.
  • Reporting & Visualization: Generate and present insightful reports and data visualizations for internal stakeholders and accrediting bodies.
  • Survey Administration: Design, implement, and analyze surveys to assess stakeholder satisfaction, engagement, and outcomes.
  • Accreditation & Compliance Support: Contribute data and analysis for accreditation submissions and ensure reporting meets external standards.
  • Collaboration & Consultation: Partner with academic and administrative units to support their data needs and foster data-informed decision-making.
Qualifications And RequirementsEducation:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Analytics, Institutional Research, or a related field is required.
  • A Master's degree in Educational Research, Data Science, or Business Analytics is preferred.
Experience:
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in institutional research or data analysis, preferably within higher education.
  • Experience supporting strategic planning or quality assurance with data insights is also essential.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in statistical software such as SPSS, R, SAS, or Python is necessary.
  • Skill in data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau is required.
  • Strong command of Excel, SQL databases, and survey tools like Qualtrics or SurveyMonkey is essential.
Professional Skills:
  • Understanding of data governance and quality assurance frameworks is crucial.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting abilities are necessary.
  • Familiarity with benchmarking practices and accreditation standards is beneficial.
Personal Attributes:
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and highly organized are must-haves.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data in accessible terms are essential.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively and managing multiple priorities is necessary.
