We are seeking an accomplished Software Engineering Manager to lead our Data Platform team in delivering world-class distributed systems and fault-tolerant mission-critical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct a team of engineers focused on Big Data and MySQL databases, providing guidance on code quality, performance, and scalability.
  • Hire, coach, mentor, and provide feedback to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Demonstrate exceptional technical expertise by contributing directly to code development when needed, ensuring alignment with the company's engineering standards.
  • Efficiently manage expectations with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external stakeholders, promoting open communication and collaboration.
  • Promote and implement modern software development methodologies, driving innovation and efficiency within the team.
  • Develop and evangelize best practices for engineering excellence, focusing on quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead the team in delivering high-quality products that meet or exceed user expectations, maintaining a strong focus on product ownership and customer advocacy.
  • Contribute to organizational decision-making as part of the leadership team, collaborating with other leaders to drive business outcomes and strategy.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in software engineering, preferably with Python and Golang, and a deep understanding of Big Data and MySQL technologies.
  • Experience leading high-performing teams, with a strong track record of building and growing talent.
  • Excellent people management skills, with a keen ability to assess individual strengths, developmental needs, and potential for success.
  • Strong technical expertise, with a proven ability to drive good engineering practices around performance, quality, and security.
  • Able to think critically, solve complex problems, and drive results-oriented initiatives.
