The role of a Data Analyst Intern in the Programme Department at UNICEF is an exciting opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain practical experience in data analysis, knowledge management, and programme support. The Programme Department plays a critical role in supporting the implementation of UNICEF's country programme in Oman.

Job Description

The intern will support the Programme Department in its efforts to strengthen programme planning, monitoring and evaluation, and advocacy by assisting in:

  • Updating the child indicators' database and factsheets with economic, social, and environmental data from national and international sources and visualized by heat maps.
  • Developing a table on the main economic, social, and environmental data of Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
  • Supporting the development of knowledge products and advocacy briefs on children's topics based on office priorities.
  • Assisting in updating the programme content on UNICEF Oman website and other related communication channels.
  • Assisting in updating and implementing the office's Knowledge Management plan.
  • Supporting in tracking the implementation of the Annual Workplan activities.
  • Assisting in organizing meetings and taking minutes with governmental partners, stakeholders, and missions in Oman.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Graduates from the years 2023, 2024, and 2025 who studied Economics, Statistics, Information Systems, Political Science, or any other relevant discipline.
  • Strong writing, analytical, and visualization skills are an asset.
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic languages is a must.
