Digital Engineering Leader

You will lead our digital engineering and BIM efforts, overseeing the deployment of digital services across our portfolio. You will also provide training to our team to ensure they are self-sufficient in digital delivery.

• Demonstrate strong portfolio management experience in a consultancy or client capacity.
• Train the incumbent team on the deployment of digital services, including software procurement, contract management, configuration, and development cycles.
• Oversight of digital team performance and continued improvement in standard processes.
• Provide training for the team to allow them to become self-sufficient in digital delivery across all seven future cities.
• This will be a client-facing role and will require presenting internally to the City SLT, project teams, and supply chains.
• Support the Project Team throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assess current resources on current projects to ensure they are sufficient to meet project goals.
• Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct interviews to assess skills and experience of potential candidates for BIM roles.
• Develop BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
• Develop client's digital handover strategy.
• Develop and maintain understanding of ISO 19650 and applicable standards for clients.
• Ensure security protocols have been followed for viewing and issuing of information on all projects.
• Implement governance and assurance processes.
• Monitor digital handover to completion.
• Participate in industry events to stay up-to-date on latest BIM developments.
• Produce Information Requirements (OIR, AIR, PIR, and EIR) as per ISO 19650.
• Produce information standards, methods, and procedures, and shared resources.
• Raise job requisitions to identify and recruit new talent for the BIM team.
• Research compliance with new regulations and governance.
• Responsible for object library development in alignment with wider BIM Strategy.
• Responsible for Assurance and Checking of the Information Model.
• Responsible for Production of the Information Model (Pre-RIBA Stage 3 only).
• Review Autodesk construction cloud account management and stay up-to-date on latest Autodesk developments.
• Review current technology solutions and research new solutions that can improve the BIM process, including emerging technologies.
• Support construction sequencing strategy using information models.
• Support Mace Cost team in preparation of cost plans from information models.
• Provide training on using databases, analyzing data, creating templates, conducting assurance, COBie production, and other BIM-related topics.
• Upskill client team, Mace project managers, and design team by running BIM knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Collaborate with Mace PM and Design teams on procedural elements and compliance with The Mace Way.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement plans/identify key business improvements.
• Develop and maintain series of both internal and external relationships.
• Manage and influence Key/Senior stakeholders.
