MEP Technician Job Description

This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.

  • Install, maintain, and repair MEP systems to ensure efficient operation and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in MEP equipment and systems to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on MEP systems to prevent issues and extend system lifespan.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to understand system design and operation.
  • Evaluate compliance with relevant safety regulations and company procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with other technicians and project team members to achieve common goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used to facilitate future reference and analysis.
  • Report any issues or concerns to the supervisor in a timely manner to ensure prompt resolution.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • Proven experience as an MEP Technician.
  • A strong understanding of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • A strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in MEP trades are desirable.
