Operational Excellence Lead

This is a leadership role where you will be responsible for overseeing the quality management system, ensuring that it aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate expertise in portfolio management, with experience in leading teams to deliver high-quality results.
• Lead the Assurances team, comprising programme and Mace employees, and oversee the delivery of health and safety, environmental/sustainability management, quality management, worker welfare functions.
• Oversight of performance and continuous improvement to standard processes, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
• Ability to train the wider team on various processes and procedures as required, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• This role involves client-facing responsibilities, presenting internally to City SLT, project teams, and their supply chains, ensuring strong relationships are built and maintained.
• Deliver delegated elements of an annual business plan to time and budget, driving success through effective planning and execution.
• Manage and facilitate external certification audits, providing expert guidance and support in achieving new certifications where necessary.
• Organize and facilitate internal audits in the audit programme, ensuring compliance and adherence to established standards.
• Accountable for leading audits and producing audit reports, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures.
• Investigate root cause analysis of instances of non-conformance, recommending corrective measures and long-term preventative measures to minimize future occurrences.
• Coordinate reviewing of management system content for appropriateness, improvement, and implementation, contributing to the development of new systems and processes.
• Ensure information for quality reports is available, accurate, and delivered within agreed timescales, maintaining transparency and accountability.
• Produce communication articles, plans, and collateral, effectively communicating key messages and updates to stakeholders.
• Collate, analyse, and present data and key metrics, analysing trends and providing recommendations for action to mitigate risk and improve management system effectiveness.
• Provide specialised expertise and knowledge to support business development activities, contributing to the growth and success of the organisation.
• Develop and deliver training programmes, enhancing the skills and competencies of team members.
• Monitor the performance of a supply chain, supporting suppliers through training, guidance, and audits of their QMS capabilities.
• Work collaboratively towards the net zero carbon transition, sharing responsibility for identifying and managing associated carbon emissions and reductions during work delivery.
• Requirements:
  • Formal auditor training course within a relevant subject area.
  • Line management experience, with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Quality assurance experience, with expertise in quality management systems and internal auditing.
  • Quality management system experience, including oversight and continuous improvement.
  • Internal auditing experience, with a focus on root cause analysis and corrective action.
