Job Title: Process Safety Specialist

This role focuses on evaluating safety systems, site conditions, and operational controls in complex industrial sectors.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct risk assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of safety measures.
  • Support accurate risk pricing by identifying risk characteristics and evaluating existing mitigation measures.
  • Investigate incidents to assess liability and recommend preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve risk assessment efficiency.
  • Develop and enhance methodologies for remote risk evaluation.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance survey effectiveness and reduce costs.
  • Design bespoke risk management solutions tailored to client requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in Refinery, Chemical, Petrochemical, Hydrogen, or COMAH-regulated sectors.
  • Prior experience as a Risk Engineer or Surveyor in insurance or related industries is essential.
  • Additonal experience in Oil and Gas sector is advantageous.

  • Strong analytical thinking and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and manage client interactions professionally.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and industrial compliance standards.
  • Detail-oriented with problem-solving skills and commercial judgement.
