We are seeking a highly experienced Process Safety Operations Manager to lead our refining and petrochemical facilities.

This role requires a technically sound leader with a strong background in refining, petrochemicals, or COMAH-regulated industries.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead comprehensive risk assessments to evaluate plant conditions, safety systems, and operational hazards
  • Investigate operational incidents and failures to determine causation and accountability
  • Propose and support implementation of improvements to risk identification, mitigation, and asset integrity frameworks
  • Champion both physical and virtual risk assessment methodologies, enhancing coverage and consistency
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify process safety gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to development of client-focused risk solutions, strategies, and safety optimisation plans
  • Support leadership in operational excellence, compliance with HSE standards, and strategic process safety planning
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • 10–15 years' experience in refinery, chemical, petrochemical, COMAH, or hydrogen-related sectors
  • Previous experience as a Survey Risk Engineer or within insurance risk assessment is highly desirable
  • Proven understanding of risk management frameworks, HSE systems, and asset integrity
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strategic thinker with a strong commercial and operational safety acumen
