Junior Shipping Operator Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Shipping Operator to join our team in Sohar, Oman.

  • The successful candidate will assist vessels and shipowners with port call formalities and requirements.
About the Role:

This role requires independence in vessel call procedures, working closely with the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

The junior operator will handle shipping agency operations such as:

  • Arrival and departure procedures
  • Inward/outward clearance
  • Coordination with local authorities
  • Bill of Lading arrangements and releases
  • Crew changes
  • Cash to Master (CTM)
  • Spare parts delivery and clearance
  • Handling coordination for spare parts
  • Other related tasks as needed
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum three years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of Sohar shipping procedures, including Harbor Master practices
  • Understanding of international logistics services and markets
  • Excellent spoken and written English (IELTS 7.0 or C1 level)
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
