About the Job Opportunity

Job Overview:

  • Inspect materials upon receipt and during processes such as fit-up, welding, non-destructive testing (NDT), and hydrostatic testing to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Review isometric drawings for piping and mechanical installation to verify that the latest revision is included in the work package.
  • Inspect welded joints, connections, and structures to verify adherence to relevant welding codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Evaluate welds for defects and ensure conformity to required quality standards.
  • Collaborate with fabrication shop personnel and welders to ensure proper welding techniques are followed and quality is maintained.
  • Conduct visual, dimensional, and non-destructive testing (NDT) to assess weld integrity.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection findings, test results, and certifications.
  • Generate inspection reports detailing defects, corrective actions, and compliance status.
  • Verify that welding consumables and equipment used meet specified standards and requirements.
  • Ensure that welding practices adhere to safety protocols and regulations, minimizing risk of accidents and hazards.
  • Review and approve welding procedures to ensure alignment with industry codes and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to address welding-related issues and provide recommendations.
  • Provide guidance to welders and personnel on proper welding techniques, safety practices, and quality control measures.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and share best practices to enhance welding quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities also include:

  • Leading the business unit on health, safety, and environmental (HSE) matters.
  • Participating in regular HSE inspections at sites and enhancing the safety culture of team members.
  • Maintaining HSE standards and implementing them for departmental activities.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and quality control standards.
  • A degree or diploma in a relevant field.
  • Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with CSWIP / AWS-CWI & minimum 5 years experience in QA / QC Welding works for Refinery / Petrochemical / Oil & Gas Projects
  • Certification as a Welding Inspector (CSWIP, AWS, or equivalent) is required.
