Piping Engineer Role

Job Description

This position requires a skilled Piping Engineer to contribute to the development of piping engineering deliverables for specific projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in piping - static, especially in the oil & gas field, and excellent communication skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing piping engineering cost, time, and resource catalogues, supervising a team of piping engineers, and developing equipment layouts and piping designs.

The role also involves identifying stress critical lines, selecting piping classes, and following quality management system requirements.

A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the field.

Main Responsibilities
  • Prepare Piping Engineering Cost, Time, and Resource (CTR) Catalogue for projects.
  • Supervise a team of piping engineers and designers assigned to a project area.
  • Contribute to Basis for Design (BfD) and Project Specifications/Philosophies.
  • Develop Equipment Layout / Plot Plan based on PFS/UFS, Technical safety requirements.
  • Develop Piping Layout based on PEFS / UEFS in 2D / 3D environment.
  • Identify stress critical lines and carry out stress analysis.
  • Select / Develop Piping classes based on MSR.
  • Develop specification for piping materials and specialty items.
  • Follow Quality Management System (QMS) requirements in line with ISO 9001-2015 and API Q2 2nd edition requirements.
  • Provide input to other discipline deliverables as appropriate.
  • Participate in Assurance reviews viz. Layout Review, Model Review, Design Review, etc.
  • Support Procurement and Construction activities.
  • Responsible for obtaining As-Built information and providing solutions in the absence of As-built information.
  • Responsible for managing Technical Clarifications on scope and needs.
  • Responsible for coordination with the asset teams for the information.
  • Manage all technical changes internally and obtain approval from Discipline Leads (HOD).
  • Responsible for Scope change confirmation (TIN).
  • Accountable for the Decision Making on changes.
  • Manage all Assurance Reviews and action closeouts.
  • Accountable for Raising, Uploading, Liaising, and Technical Variances.
  • Responsible for approving TPS Final reports.]

Skills Required

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential for this role. Experience working in a similar industry and possessing relevant qualifications is highly desirable.
