The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in Oman has taken a significant step towards improving the quality and efficiency of road infrastructure and developing ports and maritime services. The signing of three strategic agreements marks a major milestone in the government's efforts to strengthen the transportation sector and drive economic growth.

The agreements focus on several key areas, including the implementation of a 30-km long Izki-Nizwa dual carriageway project in A'Dakhiliyah Governorate. This project will improve road connectivity and reduce travel time between cities, making it easier for residents and tourists to move around.

The agreements also include the design, construction, management, and operation of a port for transporting quarry products in the Wilayat of Shaleem W'Al Halaniyat Islands. This will help increase the capacity of the ports sector and make it more competitive in the regional market.

Additionally, the agreements deal with devising an investment framework for the operation, management, and development of ship supply and crew change activities at Port Sultan Qaboos. This will enable the port to become a major hub for maritime operations in the region and attract more commercial activities.
