Enhancing Transportation Efficiency in Oman

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in Oman has signed three agreements aimed at enhancing the quality and efficiency of road infrastructure and developing ports and maritime services. These agreements are part of a broader effort to strengthen the transportation sector and improve the overall economic performance of the country.

The first agreement involves the implementation of a 30-km long Izki-Nizwa dual carriageway project in A'Dakhiliyah Governorate. This project will not only improve road connectivity but also provide a safe and efficient means of transportation for residents and tourists alike.

The second agreement focuses on investing in the design, construction, management, and operation of a port for transporting quarry products in the Wilayat of Shaleem W'Al Halaniyat Islands. This will help increase the capacity of the ports sector and make it more competitive in the regional market.

The third agreement deals with devising an investment framework for the operation, management, and development of ship supply and crew change activities at Port Sultan Qaboos. This will enable the port to attract more commercial activities and become a major hub for maritime operations in the region.
