Oman Road Infrastructure Development Project

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in Oman is taking a significant step to enhance the quality and efficiency of road infrastructure by implementing three strategic agreements related to roads, ports, and maritime services.
The goal of these agreements is to develop ports and maritime services, making them more efficient and effective. This will have a positive impact on the transportation sector as a whole.
One of the key projects under this agreement is the construction of a 30-km long Izki-Nizwa dual carriageway in A'Dakhiliyah Governorate. This project aims to improve road connectivity and reduce travel time between cities.
In addition to the Izki-Nizwa dual carriageway, the agreement also includes the design, construction, management, and operation of a port for transporting quarry products in the Wilayat of Shaleem W'Al Halaniyat Islands. This will help boost the ports sector and increase its capacity to handle larger volumes of goods.
Furthermore, the agreement deals with devising an investment framework for the operation, management, and development of ship supply and crew change activities at Port Sultan Qaboos. This will enable the port to become a major hub for maritime activities in the region.
