Global Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to support our efforts in promoting economic diversification, private sector-led growth, and sustainable development in Oman.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in advancing the World Bank Group's engagement in Oman, working closely with the Country Manager to oversee and coordinate operations, investments, and programs across all WBG institutions.

About the Role

The Country Officer will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing country-level strategies, including the Country Partnership Framework (CPF), in close collaboration with the Country Manager and operations units.
  • Supporting the Country Manager and IFC operations teams in all investment, advisory, analytical, and upstream activities in Oman.
  • Contributing to increasing the speed, scale, and quality of results in the country aligned with the CPF and the WBG corporate scorecard.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • A Master's degree in a relevant field, such as business, finance, economics, or a specific sector/industry area.
  • Between 5 to 8 years of professional experience in country program management, business consulting, investment banking, or operational experience in a sector relevant to the country.
