We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our team and help us build the next generation of immutable Ubuntu desktop. In this role, you will work on designing and developing elements of the Core Desktop, leveraging the latest Linux container technologies.

You will collaborate with experienced team members to understand the intricacies of immutable desktops and engage with the Ubuntu community to gather user feedback and insights. Your contributions will be essential in shaping the future of Ubuntu's Core Desktop.

The ideal candidate will have outstanding academic results, an undergraduate degree in a technical subject or alternative path, and an understanding of software development methodologies and life cycles. A passion for technology and a drive to work with intelligent, motivated colleagues is also essential.

You should be willing to learn and adapt, with a keen interest in the challenges of immutable desktop environments. Skills in Linux containerisation technologies, Linux desktop environments, C/C++, Go, Python, and Shell scripting are required.
