Cost and Contract Manager

About the Job:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost and Contract Manager to join our team. As a key member of our consultancy business, you will be responsible for managing and advising on cost-related matters across various projects.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and review of contract documents, including warranties, bonds, and licenses.
  • Advice on administration of construction works or services contracts, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Valuation of work carried out and adjustment of variations in accordance with contract terms.
  • Management of cost control and reporting services during the contract, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Identification of costs associated with design changes, contract awards, construction activities, and client charges.
  • Evaluation of claims for delay and additional costs made by contractors and subcontractors/suppliers, ensuring fair and reasonable outcomes.
  • Advice on issue of certificates of practical completion and negotiation of final accounts.
  • Issue of certificate of making good defects and final completion in accordance with requirements.
  • Improvement of systems and processes, driving transformational change and continuous improvement.
  • Team management, including performance management, technical development, and coaching.
  • Development of effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborative efforts towards net zero carbon transition and proactive identification of carbon emissions and reductions.

Key Qualifications:

  • Extensive years of experience in construction and related fields.
  • Knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law, and contractual frameworks relating to construction.
  • Experience in managing relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Understanding of present-day issues such as sustainability, social value, and carbon reduction.
  • Strong understanding of industry best practice.
