Job Description

The Procurement Officer is responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that align with the company's objectives. This involves sourcing, selecting, and negotiating with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.

Key responsibilities include managing supplier relationships, conducting regular performance evaluations, maintaining accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels, coordinating with other departments to ensure timely delivery of goods and services, and monitoring market trends and product availability to ensure the best possible prices and terms.

The Procurement Officer will also identify cost-saving opportunities and implement innovative procurement methods, evaluate and improve procurement processes for increased efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar role for a minimum of 4 years.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and inventory management systems.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
