Culinary Expertise in Indian Cuisine

Hotel Muscat Al Mouj is seeking an exceptional Chef de Partie – Indian Cuisine to join our culinary team. This vital role plays a crucial part in delivering outstanding dining experiences, combining creativity and technical skill.

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for Indian cuisine and be able to manage a section of the kitchen efficiently. Key responsibilities include preparing and cooking traditional and contemporary Indian dishes, maintaining high standards of food quality, and collaborating with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to develop new menu items.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and Cook Traditional Dishes: Create delicious appetizers, curries, breads, rice dishes, and desserts that showcase your mastery of Indian cuisine.
  2. Manage Kitchen Operations: Efficiently oversee your section of the kitchen during service times, ensuring seamless execution of dishes.
  3. Maintain Quality Standards: Uphold rigorous standards of food quality, taste, and presentation as per hotel recipe specifications.
  4. Collaborate with Chefs: Work closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to innovate and refine Indian menu items, staying up-to-date with seasonal trends and guest preferences.
  5. Control Costs: Monitor food portion sizes, control waste, and adhere to cost control guidelines to maximize profitability.
  6. Ensure Hygiene and Safety: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations, adhering to strict food safety regulations and hotel sanitation standards (HACCP).
  7. Support Special Events: Assist in special events, banquets, and catering services when required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  1. Culinary Diploma or Certificate: Hold a culinary diploma or certificate with specialization or experience in Indian cuisine.
  2. Professional Experience: Possess minimum 2–4 years of professional experience in Indian kitchen operations, preferably in a hotel or upscale restaurant.
  3. Strong Knowledge: Demonstrate strong knowledge of Indian cooking techniques, spices, and ingredient handling, with a focus on authenticity and flavor profile.
  4. Organizational Skills: Exhibit good organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
  5. Communication Skills: Show good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team, fostering a positive and inclusive kitchen culture.
