Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced maintenance professional to join our team as a Maintenance Team Lead for Rigs and Hoists.

About the Role

This is a key position responsible for managing all aspects of Rigs and Hoists systems maintenance, ensuring that equipment is in good working condition and that maintenance activities are carried out efficiently and effectively.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage planning and assignment of roving personnel based on case-by-case requirements of field operations and maintenance projects.
  • Provide technical support to field operations, working closely with Equipment OEMs, Workshops and Repair Facilities inside and outside Oman.
  • Coordinate issues with the Rig Manager and Supervisors.
  • Foster a culture of preventive maintenance, promoting the use of Deficiency Reports and performing detailed investigations on relevant equipment/material deficiencies and associated problems.
  • Review maintenance reports regularly, highlighting major issues to the attention of the Insourcing WE Manager and Operation Team Leads.
  • Ensure that publishable OEM material is added to our systems, manage the distribution system of Alerts, Guidelines, build/secure records, PM status, etc.
  • Own the Maintenance Procedures and Standard update process, ensuring all material is posted in systems for field access using the PDO Network.
  • Coordinate hardware audit processes covering all PDO-owned rigs and hoists, assemble or make proposals for the assembly of internal and external resources to build such teams.
  • Participate in site audits where necessary, maintain quarterly updates of hardware audit reports and follow up on close-out of action items.
  • Support QHSE audits on rigs and visit operating units to improve communication between units and the maintenance team.
  • Report findings, focusing on potential unit improvements, ideas to be exchanged between units, optimization of processes, and QHSE improvements.
  • Collaborate with training departments to review the content of existing technical courses, evaluate relevance, and select new courses upon request from training.
  • Maintain inventory of spare assets in the country and inventory of equipment stored in yards, sharing it with Rig Managers, Field Superintendent, and Operations Team Lead.
  • Assist Procurement Engineer in determining proper levels of stock and recommend optimum stock levels based on current deliveries and average use.
  • Use expertise and qualification to recommend equipment specification for purchase, transfer, retirement, spare asset, and annual capital purchase.
  • Orient new team members on safe practices and ensure compliance with Management of Change Requirements.
  • Play an active part in QHSE meetings, toolbox meetings, the LEAN program, and other company safety management systems.
