Director of Finance

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with international and local accounting standards. This role requires a strategic thinker who can develop long-term financial strategies that align with the hotel's objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Leadership: Lead the finance team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Strategic Planning: Partner with the General Manager and department heads to develop financial strategies that support the hotel's goals.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Oversee the preparation and management of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Operational Efficiency: Drive cost control initiatives to optimize financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Team Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (Master's degree or MBA preferred)
  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressive financial experience in hospitality, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards in Oman or the GCC region
  • Proficiency in financial systems and hotel ERP software
  • Exceptional analytical, leadership, and communication skills
  • Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus)
