Key Deliverables
  • Assist the sales team in providing timely responses to customer inquiries.
  • Understand the technical requirements of customers for cables and design the cable accordingly. Analyze customer needs in relation to OCI products and provide feedback.
  • Prepare bills of materials (BOM) for various cable components and verify them with specifications, fictitious calculations, and manufacturing values.
  • Develop intercompany (IC) cable designs and offers in CA.
  • Verify CA families, CA item codes, and manufacturing instructions prepared by design engineers for costing and manufacturing purposes.
  • Be responsible for reviewing and updating raw material specifications.
  • Identify areas requiring clarification and participate in technical communications and meetings with customers to ensure their needs are met.
  • Provide technical data sheets, drawings, clarification/departure lists, and other supporting documents as required by customers.
  • Support ATL teams, NPD, DTC, and CSI activities.
  • Allocate and monitor the status of customer inquiries among team members.
Post Order
  • Ensure that final item codes, special instructions, and other technical information are provided according to final approved documents.
  • Migrate final CA item codes to SAP.
  • Obtain technical clearance for sales orders in SAP for manufacturing purposes.
  • Review and propose DTC opportunities for strategic sales orders.
  • Prepare technical data and manufacturing instructions for semi-finished cables for the procurement department.
Data Base
  • Review and issue cable datasheets, cross-sectional drawings, and BOMs in OCI standard format.
  • Maintain a commonly asked clarification and departure list, and work on deviation points for future inquiries.
QualificationsJob Profile
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in electrical engineering.
Skills/Knowledge
  • Knowledge of various IEC and BS cable standards.
  • Knowledge of fictitious calculations and manufacturing BOM calculations according to IEC and BS cable standards.
  • Knowledge of GCC utility specifications.
  • Knowledge of cable design and BOM calculations.
  • Knowledge of various manufacturing processes related to cable manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of CYMCAP software.
  • Good understanding of cable design and BOM optimization.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PPT, etc.), AutoCAD, and Solid Works.
Experience
  • Degree: 6+ years of experience as a power cable design engineer.
  • Diploma: 8+ years of experience as a power cable design engineer.
Business Understanding
  • Knowledge of costing software.
  • Knowledge of software for cable designing.
