Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Geomechanics Solutions Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our geoscience and geomechanics department, you will be responsible for delivering timely, technically excellent, and business-focused geomechanics solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geomechanics, with experience in borehole scale, field scale, and regional scale solutions. You will be expected to apply your knowledge of geomechanical risks and mitigation strategies throughout the opportunity realization process.

In this role, you will contribute to the maintenance of our geomechanics database and develop sound geomechanics workflows. You will also provide ad hoc consultancy on data gathering and monitoring programs, as well as support for fraccing operations.

You will work closely with our team to deliver geomechanics projects, participate in integrated reservoir reviews, and ensure technical integrity and quality of discipline work. Additionally, you will participate in discipline meetings, share best practices across the organization, and execute the discipline business plan in your directorate.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • University degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Geo-Physics, Geology, or equivalent technical subject
  • More than 10 years' experience in geoscience & geomechanics in oil and gas operations
  • Strong technical and pragmatic skills
  • Proven mastery of borehole and field scale geomechanics solutions and modeling skills
  • Proven mastery of all stress measurement tools and analyses techniques
  • Good knowledge of standard rock mechanical laboratory tests and their QA/QC
  • Solid background in formation evaluation tools and techniques
  • Good knowledge of monitoring and surveillance technology required to calibrate geomechanical tool predictions
