Drilling Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Drilling Operations Manager to oversee drilling and workover operations in Oman. This is a 28/28 rotation position.

  • This role will involve ensuring full implementation of the annual Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) plan, including compliance checks during rig and hoist inspections. You will also ensure contractors comply with HSE Management Systems as per contract.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring safety, environmental, and health policies and regulations are adhered to on the drilling/workover site.
  • You will manage contractor activities at the site, perform supervisory functions, and exercise financial authority as delegated by senior management.
  • You will review the drilling/workover plan in detail, discuss with engineers, verify aspects of the plan, recommend technical changes, and prepare for site start-up.
  • You will review field drilling data, liaise with contractors, and issue work directions to ensure smooth operations.
  • You will plan with contractors to complete the drilling/workover program on time, within budget, and safely. You will ensure logistics are well coordinated.
Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering or relevant discipline.
  • Understanding of fluid dynamics.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in drilling and workover operations, with at least 5 years as a Drilling Site Supervisor in horizontal drilling.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and familiar with Open Well and/or DIMS programs.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Well Control Certificate.
