The Procurement Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the company's sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management functions operate efficiently. This involves developing procurement strategies, negotiating contracts, and guaranteeing that goods and services are procured at the best value while maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
  2. Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for raw materials, APIs, packaging, and equipment.
  3. Establish long-term supplier relationships to ensure quality and cost efficiency.
  4. Stay updated with market trends, pricing, and supplier capabilities.
  5. Conduct market analysis to identify sourcing opportunities and trends.
  6. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships.
  7. Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or compliance.
  8. Conduct supplier qualifications, audits, and performance evaluations.
  9. Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.
  10. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms with suppliers.
  11. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and legal regulations in all contracts.
  12. Manage supplier risk assessment and alternate sourcing strategies.
Cost Optimization & Budget Management
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining product quality and availability.
  • Analyze procurement cost trends, pricing models, and total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Work with finance teams to ensure budget control and cost efficiency.
  • Optimize inventory levels to balance cost and demand.
Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination
  • Collaborate with production, planning, and warehouse teams to ensure on-time material availability.
  • Monitor inventory levels, stock movement, and reordering processes.
  • Implement Just-In-Time (JIT) and vendor-managed inventory (VMI) models for optimization.
Procurement Process Management
  • Supervise procurement of raw materials, packaging material, lab chemicals, reference standards, and other miscellaneous materials as per requirement.
  • Receive requisitions from various departments and process them as per priority in discussion with Director SCM and based on required approvals.
  • Compile the documents for pre-budget approval with Finance dept. Follow up with Finance and Internal Auditor for approval.
  • Supervise and validate the generation of Purchase Order (PO) for approved orders, check and send mail with the approved PO to the vendor and follow up with Finance for advance payment settlements.
  • Arrange collection of the documents through mail, invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, certificate of analysis, etc.
  • Ensure raw materials are attested by MOH/MOE backed up by COA/MSDS and seek approval for import.
  • Ensure duty charges are paid if not exempted through Agent.
  • Follow up with the clearing agent for clearance of all imported material.
  • Inform stores in advance for planning space and receiving materials upon arrival.
