Head Baker Job Description

Nestled in a scenic location, our resort offers an exceptional opportunity for a talented Head Baker to lead our bakery team and oversee all baking operations. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of baking techniques, recipe development, team leadership, and maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.

This hands-on role requires creativity, efficiency, and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be responsible for embodying our hospitality philosophy and core values, displaying genuine care and politeness towards customers and colleagues, and maintaining professionalism and punctuality within the team.

Responsibilities:

  2. Maintain professionalism and punctuality within the team.
  3. Stay informed on hotel updates and guest preferences.
  4. Ensure efficient kitchen operations, including food quality, storage, sanitation, and waste management.
  5. Maintain effective communication across all levels.
  6. Monitor employee uniforms, grooming, and conduct daily briefings.
  7. Approve staff schedules for optimal coverage.
  8. Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training in collaboration with HR.
  9. Oversee third-party services such as cleaning and waste management.
  10. Conduct regular stock checks and ensure safe use of equipment.
  11. Provide performance appraisals and promote inter-departmental cooperation.
  12. Strictly adhere to hygiene and sanitation procedures as directed by the Hygiene Manager.
  13. Support and supervise compliance with food safety standards.
  14. Promote waste reduction, recycling, and reuse according to hotel and ISO standards.
  15. Follow environmentally responsible practices and hotel guidelines.
  16. Be cost-conscious and monitor food costs against budget.
  17. Oversee EMS procedures in kitchen operations to meet performance targets and objectives.
