Job Title: Lead Nursery Teacher

• Create a safe and welcoming environment for students in the classroom.
• Be a role model for students in terms of positive attitude, kindness, and respect towards others.
• Establish a clean and inviting classroom atmosphere that fosters imagination and self-esteem through the presentation of student work.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants to ensure maximum efficiency in the classroom and provide individualized support to each child.
• Teach children personal hygiene practices and self-care techniques.
• Promote cooperative social behavior through games and activities.
• Utilize games, music, books, art, technology, and other resources to teach basic skills and foster student development.
• Observe, evaluate, and record children's social and academic progress.
• Communicate effectively with teaching assistants regarding needs and expectations.
• Implement the Reggio Emilia approach in the classroom by planning a thorough curriculum and lesson plans.
• Research and apply relevant visual aids and resources based on the current theme.
• Minimize the use of ready-made materials and encourage creative resource utilization.
• Submit weekly lesson plans to administration by Saturday evening.
• Manage assistant teachers and service staff: schedule diaper changes, team break times, delegate responsibilities, and tasks.
• Plan in-class rotations and activities based on established interest corners, including quiet-time: group children and maintain simultaneous activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
• Establish a secure learning environment through active interaction and support.
• Motivate and stimulate learning abilities.
• Support children in developing their social and language abilities; curiosity; physical coordination; mathematical and creative skills through stories, songs, games, drawing, and imaginative play.
• Monitor and report each child's progress throughout the term; complete daily reports.
• Ensure health and safety supervision; report any observed changes in wellbeing during the day.
• Welcome and farewell children at the classroom door while maintaining minimal interaction with parents.
• Organize educational materials, resources, and students' work decoratively.
• Maintain a detailed inventory of items and resources within the classroom.
• Report any damage to furniture, toys, walls, or nursery belongings.
• Account for the appropriate use of nursery materials.
• Uphold team spirit within and outside the classroom Administration:
• Report unusual incidents involving children, assistants, or parents to the Educational Supervisor and/or Administration.
• Complete an Injury Report in case of an accident.
• Participate in after-care duty as per the set-up schedule.
• Attend developmental workshops.
• Adhere to the school code of conduct, policies, rules, and procedures in a supportive and positive manner.
• Regularly communicate with parents; respond to messages within 24 hours.
• Ensure display boards showcase students' works and implement a new theme every 3-4 weeks.
