Software Engineering Manager

**Job Summary**
We are seeking a skilled Software Engineering Manager to lead our engineering teams and drive the development of high-quality software. As an experienced engineering manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and deployment of software solutions.

**Key Responsibilities:**
  • Lead a team of remote engineers in the design, implementation, and deployment of software solutions.
  • Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development.
  • Set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders.
  • Advocate and advance modern software development practices.
  • Participate in the engineering process through code and architectural review.
  • Engage with teams at Canonical, the open source community, and partners.

Requirements:
Our ideal candidate will have experience leading successful, collaborative engineering teams and demonstrate the ability to solve challenging distributed systems problems and deep knowledge of Linux. Key qualifications include:
  • Experience with modern Linux cloud computing technologies, including networking, storage, containers, and K8s.
  • A strong track record of developing and growing people.
  • Focused on success and the delivery of timely, high-quality software.
  • A Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Computer Science, STEM, or similar field.
  • Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
  • Experience programming in C and/or Go.
