Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of remote engineers in delivering high-quality software solutions. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of developing and growing people, with expertise in modern C++ development, cross-platform development on macOS and/or Windows, and knowledge of hypervisor technologies such as Hyper-V, VirtualBox, and KVM.

About the Role

  • Lead a team of remote engineers to achieve timely delivery of high-quality software solutions
  • Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development
  • Set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders
  • Advocate and advance modern software development practices
  • Participate in the engineering process through code and architectural review
  • Engage with teams at Canonical, the open source community, and partners
  • Work from home with occasional global travel for internal and external events

What We Are Looking For

  • A Bachelor's or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or similar degree
  • Strong written and verbal technical communication skills
  • Experience leading successful, collaborative engineering teams
  • The ability to solve challenging problems and drive results-oriented decision making
