Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled HSEQ Training and Compliance Leader to oversee our vessel safety, compliance, and operational excellence. This position requires the development and implementation of comprehensive safety training programs for crew members.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Create and conduct safety training programs to ensure crew preparedness for emergency situations.
  2. Mentor crew members in their duties, optimizing operational procedures, and enhancing technical skills.
  3. Perform regular compliance audits to ensure adherence to international maritime regulations and company policies.
  4. Analyze root causes of safety incidents and contribute to the development of preventive measures.
  5. Stay current with changes in international maritime regulations and industry best practices.

Requirements:

  • Class 1 Master/Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency.
  • ISM/ISO Auditor's certification or previous experience in a Safety Department.
  • Ability to train personnel or Certified Training Certificate – Train the Trainer.
  • Fluent in English and computer literate.
  • Proficient in Incident Investigation, preferably DNV M-SCATT.

Experience:

  • Sea Service as a Senior Deck or Engine Officer / Master or Chief Engineer.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maritime operations.

Skillset:

  • Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations.
  • Excellent training and instructional skills.
  • Ability to conduct compliance audits and safety assessments.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective planning, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Facts About This Job:

This role reports directly to the Senior Manager Safety & Marine. The ideal candidate will possess maritime sector knowledge, analytical thinking, effective communication, emergency crisis management, incident and accident prevention, vetting management, risk management, inspection and audit processes, quality control and assurance management, fleet safety and security management.
