Construction Project Manager Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Project Manager to lead projects from initiation to completion.

About the Position

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, evaluating, and assessing information necessary to construct projects on time, within budget, and to the quality specified by contract documents.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Site Investigations: Conduct thorough site investigations to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  2. Quantity/Material Takeoff: Prepare accurate quantity and material takeoffs to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  3. Estimate Checking: Review estimates for extensions, accuracy, and errors to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  4. Estimate Schedules: Prepare estimate schedules for tendering reviews to facilitate informed decision-making.
  5. Budgeting/Costing: Develop and manage project budgets and costs to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  6. Sub-Contractor/Supplier Management: Communicate with sub-trades and suppliers to obtain quotations and negotiate contracts.
  7. Tender Closings: Participate in tender closings to ensure transparent and fair procurement processes.
  8. Tender Compilation: Compile and condense successful and unsuccessful tenders to inform future project decisions.
  9. Unit Price/Productivity Knowledge: Maintain a database of unit prices and productivity knowledge to support informed estimating and costing decisions.
Qualifications:
  1. A Post-Secondary Construction Engineering Technology School graduate or BSc Degree in Quantity Survey is required.
  2. 5-10 years' experience in estimating Commercial, Institutional, and/or Industrial buildings.
  3. Advanced knowledge of estimating and costing structural concrete and structural steel building systems.
  4. Experience in estimating projects ranging from 5 million to 50 million.
  5. Ability to perform conceptual estimating based on written or verbal instructions.
  6. Proficiency in on-screen take-off software and MS Project/Primavera P6 Scheduling software.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
