Job Summary:
","We are seeking a skilled L2 Network & Security Engineer to provide second-level support for network issues, troubleshoot complex problems, and maintain enterprise networks.
","The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, etc.) and hands-on experience with Fortinet, Cisco, and Huawei network/security products.
","Responsibilities include providing L2 support, operating and maintaining networking and security devices, configuring and troubleshooting network products, implementing firewall rules, and coordinating with L3 teams and vendors.
","The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining network diagrams, documenting configuration backups, ensuring compliance with security standards and IT policies, participating in change management and incident response procedures, and handling escalated network issues.
","In addition, the L2 Network & Security Engineer will troubleshoot complex problems involving LAN, WAN, and WLAN technologies, diagnose issues with routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices, perform advanced network configurations, configure and maintain VPNs and load balancers, and use network management tools to monitor performance and identify potential issues.
","Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, Electronics, or related field, 5+ years of relevant experience in network and security operations (L2 level), and strong understanding of network protocols and hands-on experience with Fortinet, Cisco, and Huawei network/security products.
","Preferred qualifications include Fortinet NSE 4 or higher, CCNP (Cisco Certified), PaloAlto, and F5 Experience.
","This is a 2-year contractual assignment in Muscat, Oman, with standard business hours as per the Oman Law, and on-call support if required.
