Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer - L3 Support to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and other open source software.

You will work closely with our Field, Support, and product engineering teams to resolve issues and drive them to resolution. Your responsibilities will also include participating in upstream communities, developing bug fixes, backport patches, and collaborating with upstream projects for inclusion.

To succeed in this role, you will need exceptional academic record, background in Computer Science, STEM, or similar, experience with Linux and open source software, and proficiency in Python, Go, C, or C++ on Linux.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolving complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and other open source software.
  • Maintaining close collaboration with Canonical's Field, Support, and product engineering teams.
  • Participating in upstream communities.
  • Developing bug fixes, backport patches, and collaborating with upstream projects for inclusion.
  • Reviewing code from other engineers.
  • Applying good technical judgment.
  • Prioritizing and managing work effectively.
  • Participating in discussions to improve processes, tools, and documentation.
  • Communicating clearly and concisely.
