JJob Title: Quantity Surveyor – MEP (Mid-Senior Level)

Job Location: Sultanate of Oman

Job Summary:

The Quantity Surveyor – MEP is responsible for managing all cost and contractual aspects of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing works within a project. The role involves cost estimation, preparation of BOQs, evaluation of variations, preparation of interim and final bills, and coordination with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure financial control and project profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quantity Take-off: Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and BOQs for MEP systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Firefighting, and Electrical).
  • Cost Estimation: Prepare cost estimates and budgets during tendering and execution stages.
  • Tendering & Procurement: Assist in tender preparation, evaluation of subcontractor quotations, and negotiation of rates.
  • Valuation & Billing: Prepare and submit interim payment applications and final accounts for client approval.
  • Variation & Claims: Identify, evaluate, and prepare variation and claim submissions with proper documentation and cost backup.
  • Subcontract Management: Review subcontractor invoices, verify quantities, and certify payments.
  • Cost Control: Monitor project costs and ensure alignment with the approved budget.
  • Documentation: Maintain proper records of drawings, correspondences, approvals, and financial documents for project reference.
  • Coordination: Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Accounts team to support overall project financial management.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying.
  • 3–4 years of experience in MEP quantity surveying (preferably with a contracting company in the GCC).
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems, drawings, and BOQ preparation.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity estimation software.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Valid Oman Driving License preferred.
