
Business Development Manager

This position will be responsible for identifying & focusing on upcoming projects with potential for construction & mechanical scope. Ensure prequalification is obtained for ITB/RFQ & consensus to bid. Coordinate with relevant Head BD for strategizing, and with clients for queries / clarifications. Evaluate contracts for bid submission and share with concerned authorities before finalizing project contracts, which are then handed over to management.
Core job responsibilities:
- Identify projects from media or other sources and establish contact with concerned persons to present the company's capabilities for potential projects.
- Obtain pre-qualification requirements for bidding and ensure the company is pre-qualified as per client & project requirements.
- Perform market intelligence related to potential projects, competitors, and other factors affecting business to formulate marketing strategies for business growth.
- Supervise & monitor Marketing Engineers to prepare inquiry synopsis, allocate bid numbers, and obtain feedback from relevant departments to support management decisions on bids.
- Conduct pre-bid work to compile technical & commercial specifications received from authorities to formulate bid strategies and ensure bid submission as per specifications.
- Interface with clients and authorities to facilitate issue resolution and promote good working relations.
- Perform market studies and analyses to support management decision-making related to business growth.
- Ensure departmental objectives are met through leadership, including setting individual objectives, managing performance, and developing staff.
- Recommend improvements to departmental policies and oversee implementation to meet procedural and legislative requirements while delivering quality, cost-effective services.
- Create a safe working environment, manage risks, reduce hazardous liabilities, and ensure implementation of QHSE policies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical) or MBA in Marketing.
- Minimum Experience:
8 to 12 years of experience mainly in sales & marketing within the Oil & Gas and engineering industries.
Note: Preference will be given to candidates currently based in Oman with relevant experience in the oil & gas and engineering sectors, and a strong understanding of the Omani market and its dynamics.
