Protection and Commissioning Engineer – Electrical

Protection and Commissioning Engineer – Electrical with 15-20 years of experience dedicated to the successful delivery of electrical substation projects and holding LEVEL III witness approval. This is a site-based role based in Muscat, Oman, as required by project needs.
Responsibilities- Develop commissioning plans, procedures, and risk assessments; prepare all necessary documentation and reports.
- Conduct pre-commissioning checks and site testing witness; perform functional and performance tests on equipment and protection systems, including diff/Dist relays, to ensure correct installation, wiring, and grounding.
- Verify compliance with design specifications and standards; analyze system data, conduct performance tests, and identify bottlenecks to resolve issues.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve electrical faults during the commissioning process; provide technical support to other engineers, project managers, and site personnel on operational procedures and system functions.
- Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met and ensure safety and efficiency of project completion.
- 15-20 years dedicated to electrical substation projects; LEVEL III witness approval.
- Experience with protection systems and protective relays; ability to verify protection schemes and settings and ensure proper operation.
- Strong site-based experience and ability to work in substations as required.
