Protection and Commissioning Engineer – Electrical

Looking for an experienced Protection and Commissioning Engineer with over 15-20 years dedicated to the successful delivery of electrical substation projects and who shall hold LEVEL III witness approval.
OverviewAn Electrical Protection and Commissioning Engineer verifies the integrity of electrical systems and their requirements, including various system studies for protective devices before and after commissioning. The role ensures safety, reliability, and compliance with design specifications and standards. The engineer is involved in site test witness, developing commissioning plans, conducting pre-commissioning checks, performing functional and performance tests on equipment and protection systems, resolving faults, creating detailed documentation, and providing technical support to ensure safe and efficient project completion as per the schedule.
Responsibilities- Develop commissioning plans, procedures, and risk assessments, and prepare all necessary documentation and reports.
- Conduct thorough inspections, site testing, witness testing on components including diff/dist relays to ensure correct installation, wiring, and grounding, and verify compliance with design specifications.
- Perform functional tests on electrical equipment, including circuit breakers, relays, and protection systems, to ensure they operate as intended.
- Analyze system data, conduct performance tests, and assess system efficiency to identify and resolve issues or bottlenecks.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve electrical faults and issues that arise during commissioning.
- Provide technical expertise, support, and training to other engineers, project managers, and site personnel on operational procedures and system functions.
- Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.
- 15-20 years of experience in electrical substation projects.
- LEVEL III witness approval.
