We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) to oversee a marine infrastructure project at Sohar Port, Oman.

The ARE will support the Resident Engineer in managing site activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and maintaining quality and safety standards.

Your new role, what's involved?

  1. Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  2. Assist the Resident Engineer in overseeing all marine construction activities (e.g., quay walls, breakwaters, dredging, reclamation, and piling).
  3. Monitor contractor performance, ensuring adherence to design specifications, project timelines, and contractual obligations.
  4. Conduct regular inspections, site audits, and review method statements to maintain high-quality construction.
  5. Work closely with the safety team to maintain a safe working environment.
  6. Prepare and submit progress reports, technical reports, and site observations to the Resident Engineer and project management team.
  7. Attend progress meetings, presenting key site updates and addressing concerns.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related field.
  2. 10+ years of experience in marine construction (ports, harbors, coastal structures).
  3. Strong knowledge of dredging, quay wall construction, revetments, piling, and reclamation works.
  4. Experience working in the Middle East, preferably in Oman, is an advantage.
  5. Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, and other relevant engineering software.
  6. Strong communication and leadership skills to manage contractors and project teams.
