Job Description

1. JOB HOLDER & JOB DETAILS:

Position Title: Business Intelligence Manager
Reports to: VP – Strategy Affairs
Department: Strategy Affairs Department
Section: Business Analysis

2. PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Support the client (a leading Port and Freezone operator) management by leading the Business Analysis unit, responsible for sourcing and analysing business trends, statistics, and developments for decision-making.

3. JOB DIMENSIONS:

Revenues/ Budget: 50-100 K OMR

4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Business Intelligence & Analysis:

Assist the department head in setting policies, procedures, plans, and budgets; oversee data analysis, data management systems, and develop insights.

Manage a team of BI analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development.

Set KPIs, resource allocations, and develop methodologies, standards, and data governance practices.

Gather complex business requirements and develop relationships internally and externally to enhance business intelligence capabilities.

Provide management with relevant, reliable analysis to guide decisions and participate in strategic planning processes.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

Lead the achievement of objectives through effective leadership, recruitment, performance management, and staff development.

BUDGETS AND PLANS

Manage sectional budgets and monitor financial performance.

POLICIES, SYSTEMS, PROCESSES & PROCEDURES

Ensure implementation of policies and procedures to deliver quality, cost-effective services.

STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

Manage stakeholder relations with internal departments, external partners, and government bodies; develop engagement strategies.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

Identify opportunities for system, process, and practice improvements aligned with global standards.

QUALITY, HEALTH, SAFETY, & ENVIRONMENT

Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and environmental responsibility.

MANAGEMENT REPORTS

Prepare accurate reports meeting client standards and provide insights on trade facilitation, economic competitiveness, and risks.

5. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal – All departments
External – Customers, business community peers, port and freezone, data partners

6. FRAMEWORKS, BOUNDARIES, & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:

Operate within organizational policies and governance frameworks; responsible for strategy execution within approved budgets and authority matrices.

7. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in economics, business management, technology, engineering, or related fields.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

8+ years in a similar role with leadership experience; strong analytical, strategic, and communication skills; proven research and reporting capabilities.
