NES Fircroft is seeking a local Cost Controller to join a major operator in Muscat, Oman. This position is exclusively for Omani nationals or individuals already based in Oman.

The Cost Controller will be part of the Project Control team, supporting cost management during the project execution phase.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Perform daily Cost Control activities
  • Manage invoicing processes, including supplier invoicing and inter-location billing
  • Support the Project Control team and project personnel in all cost-related matters
  • Contribute to delivering the project on time and within budget
  • Maintain strict confidentiality throughout the project
  • Ensure efficient invoice workflow and processing
  • Monitor invoice receipt, registration, cost allocation, rate analysis, and contractual compliance
  • Manage invoice validation and rejection processes
  • Follow up on payments in coordination with accounting to ensure timely settlements
  • Calculate advance payment deductions, forecast monthly values, and estimate cash calls
  • Organize and file all project cost documentation
  • Assist in project budget preparation, including data collection and revisions
  • Participate in budget variation analysis and presentations to stakeholders
  • Prepare and monitor Authorization for Expenditure (AFE)
  • Provide ad-hoc support as needed
DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITIES
  • Monitor and follow up on project expenditures
  • Participate in procurement processes, including requisitions and purchase orders
  • Control commitments and reallocate costs as necessary
  • Manage the RFS process (open, register, analyze, control, report, close)
  • Assist with site man-hours tracking and mobilization cost estimates
  • Ensure timely and complete team time recording (CATS)
  • Establish and maintain cost control procedures aligning with company standards
  • File cost control documents systematically
  • Support the implementation of MM module within SAP ERP
  • Gather data for monthly project closure
  • Review commitment schedules and prepare accruals
  • Contribute to monthly cost control reports and analysis
  • Assist in cash flow estimation and monthly cash calls

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & BACKGROUND
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience
  • At least 4 years in a similar cost control role within Oil & Gas or related industries, including fabrication/construction yards
  • Degree in Accounting, Engineering, or related field
  • Proficient in SAP and project management systems, with strong IT skills (Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, PowerBI)
  • Fluent in English
