Merchandizing & Sourcing Manager | MAF Retail | Head Office Oman

Role Summary

The Manager – Commercial is responsible for coordinating with buyers as well as supporting purchases for Majid Al Futtaim Retail. The role holder is also responsible for assisting with selection and examining products that reach store shelves, in catalogues, and online.

Role Profile
  1. Implement effective strategies for sourcing goods and maintaining desired stock levels.
  2. Prepare and review purchase details of orders and deliveries.
  3. Implement methods to reduce shortages and overstocking through data analysis and control strategies.
  4. Engage in sourcing the best quality products at competitive prices aligned with the organisation's objectives.
  5. Identify profitable suppliers and initiate partnerships.
  6. Develop reports on key metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  7. Oversee communication with suppliers regarding quality issues and propose improvements to ensure the best quality products.
  8. Communicate regularly with Sales Development to better understand the needs of MAF Retail.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration
  • 5 – 7 years in a similar position, with 2 – 4 years in retail/FMCG industry preferred
  • Strong business communication and presentation skills
  • Aptitude for decision-making and working with numbers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
