Confidential Data Governance Specialist

Purpose and Summary:

This role is accountable for ensuring the bank processes personal data in accordance with data protection rules, performing compliance and quality assurance reviews as per approved plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to conduct privacy impact assessments.
  • Establish and maintain an internal reporting mechanism for personal data processing activities, adhering to business unit/process owner requirements.
  • Provide expert advice on data protection rule interpretation and application.
  • Review internal policies, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with required rules and standards.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions and awareness programs to educate staff members on compliance matters and provide guidance on applicable laws, regulations, and standards through policies and procedures.
  • Conduct compliance/AML quality assurance reviews to verify adherence to relevant laws and regulations within areas of business/operations.
  • Support the head of department in additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business or information security.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Analytical and reasoning skills.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Prioritization, planning, and time management skills.
  • Objective and fact-based decision-making.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic language.

Experience:

  • 0-3 years of experience in similar roles.

Business Understanding:

  • Fair understanding of banking operations.
  • Fair understanding of Central Bank regulations and internal policies/procedures.
