We are seeking a seasoned Construction Manager I to join our team.

Job Overview

This is a senior-level construction management role that oversees the delivery of projects from start to finish. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in managing construction teams, ensuring timely project completion, and maintaining high-quality standards.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders. They will be responsible for monitoring project progress, identifying potential risks, and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

Main Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Direct and manage a construction team by providing guidance, coordination, and follow-up to achieve project objectives.
  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess project progress through meetings, site visits, and inspections to ensure alignment with the project schedule.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all activities comply with established quality procedures, health and safety codes, and industry standards.
  • Project Scope: Oversee project output from detailed design to commissioning and startup, ensuring clear definition of project scope and schedule.
  • Document Review: Review and approve construction-related documents, drawings, method statements, plans, procedures, etc., and secure necessary approvals for scope changes.
  • Reporting: Provide regular project status updates to management, addressing concerns, and resolving construction issues related to contractors and monitoring their performance.
  • Interdepartmental Coordination: Interface with departments such as Engineering, QA/QC, HSSE, Commissioning, and Operations.
  • Milestone Achievement: Verify completion of milestone activities for payment certification.
  • Meetings and Communication: Attend and conduct meetings internally and with contractors as necessary.
  • Constructability: Ensure constructability, assembly, and utilization of construction techniques throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Project Handover: Manage mechanical completion and ensure timely project handover and milestone achievement.
  • Talent Development: Develop the Omani construction team through on-the-job training and participation in their development plans.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field required.
  • 10-15 years of experience in construction management.
