Job Overview

Assistant Finance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Finance Manager to support our finance department in managing the hotel's financial operations.

This role involves overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, assisting with budget preparation, and contributing to strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical background, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to facilitate coordination with various departments.

  1. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to ensure accuracy and transparency.
  2. Generate weekly and monthly management reports to provide insights on financial performance and operational efficiency, highlighting areas for improvement and cost savings opportunities.
  3. Collaborate with department heads to gather financial data and assumptions for annual budgeting, ensuring comprehensive and accurate forecasting.
  4. Develop and implement financial forecasts and variance analyses to identify trends and make recommendations for action, driving business growth and profitability.
  5. Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes, ensuring timely processing and accuracy.
  6. Review and reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial records, ensuring compliance with hotel policies and regulatory requirements.
  7. Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard hotel assets and maintain the integrity of financial information, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  8. Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, identifying areas for improvement in revenue management and cost control, and providing actionable recommendations.
  9. Provide financial insights and business advice to department heads, enabling informed decision-making and driving business success.
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
  • Prior experience in finance or accounting within the hospitality industry or a similar environment, with at least 1-2 years in a relevant role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Opera, Sun System) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with various departments.
