Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Drilling Operations Specialist to join our team in Switzerland. The successful candidate will report directly to the Drilling Manager and work closely with the Drilling Superintendent, Contract Drilling Teams, Geologists, and Contract Engineers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading drilling operations in Gabon and Cameroon, providing technical support to the Well Engineering Manager, and performing drilling engineering and procedure writing.

Key Responsibilities include:

  1. Leading engineer for Gabon and Cameroon exploration, delineation, and development operations.
  2. Supporting the Well Engineering Manager and performing drilling engineering and procedure writing in cooperation with support functions.
  3. Identifying technologies and solutions to determine the optimum methods of drilling wells.
  4. Undertaking special drilling studies as requested by the Asset, including feasibility studies for unconventional conditions, Field Development Plans, and drilling optimization studies.
  5. Preparing input for Well Proposals, TD, Basis Of Design, etc., in conjunction with the Support Team.
  6. Preparing well cost estimates and submitting as per procedure.
  7. Preparing and issuing specialist reports on drilling-related aspects of operations.
  8. Conducting after-action reviews and assisting in preparing the final well report.
  9. Developing and maintaining drilling-related document archives.
  10. Providing duty cover and delegating tasks to the Well Engineering Manager as requested.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree qualification or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English and French; Chinese Mandarin is a plus.
  • Strong contract development and administration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication skills in a corporate environment.
  • Operational experience in West Africa.
  • Experience with start-up operations.
  • Offshore field experience as a Drilling Engineer/Supervisor.
