About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards across the organization.

  • Developing HSSE Standards: Produce, interpret, and cascade relevant HSSE procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance with defined standards.
  • Training and Development: Manage and conduct training programs for personnel on HSSE topics, including but not limited to HSSE Induction, Permit-to-Work, Working at Height, Confined Space Entry, Electrical Safety, Road Safety, and Basic Fire Fighting.
  • Job Safety Analysis: Support and challenge the development of Job Safety Analysis for engineering tasks as required.
  • HSSE Audits and Inspections: Implement HSSE plans and conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement.
  • HSSE Statistics: Obtain, interpret, and report HSSE statistics to inform decision-making.
Requirements
  • Qualification: Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relative discipline or equivalent qualification.
  • Certifications: NEBOSH IGC or an equivalent IOSH certificate or equivalent HSE qualification.
  • Experience: More than 10 years of experience in the petrochemical/oil and gas, petroleum refining, or power generation industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a maintenance scope of work and 5 years in an HSE Advisor or Safety Officer position.
  • Language Skills: English language proficiency to IELTS level 4 or equivalent.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in using computers, word processing software, Excel, and Windows.
  • Incident Investigation: Robust understanding of Tripod or equivalent incident investigation methodology and ability to deliver reports.
