High-Quality Engineering Expert - Python Software Specialist

We are a pioneering tech firm at the forefront of global open-source initiatives. Our platform, based on Ubuntu, plays a vital role in breakthrough enterprise projects such as public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT. We collaborate with leading industry players and Silicon Valley companies. With over 1,200 colleagues across more than 80 countries, our teams meet twice to four times yearly in person to align on strategy and execution.

The Commercial Systems unit consists of seven closely collaborating engineering teams that work closely with other business units. Services designed, developed, and operated by this unit form the core of our business, with Python playing a key role. We seek skilled Python engineers for our Integrations team.

The Integrations team is responsible for automating user management and onboarding new data sources to the data mesh. The team designs, develops, and operates Python-based solutions to automate seat management and track application portfolio spend. Additionally, they integrate internal and external data sources into the data mesh using open-source ETL tools, enabling data-driven decision-making within the organization.

  • Design, develop, and deploy engineering solutions using Python
  • Collaborate with colleagues on technical designs and code reviews
  • Operate services developed by the team
  • Mentor, coach, and provide career development feedback based on seniority
  • Develop and promote excellent engineering practices

We are looking for individuals who can deliver exceptional results, have an academic track record from high school and university, and possess relevant technical experience. You should also have:

  • Undergraduate degree in a technical field or alternative narrative about your chosen path
  • Professional written and spoken English with strong presentation skills
  • Results-oriented mindset with a personal drive to meet commitments
  • Ability to travel internationally for company events

Beyond these requirements, desired skills include performance engineering and security expertise as well as experience with Airbyte, Ranger, Temporal, or Trino.
